Volunteer for the
2010-2011 School Year! |
|
|
|
Our outstanding, dedicated Parents Association
consists of volunteer parents who plan a variety of cultural,
social, athletic and fundraising activities. These events provide
opportunities for the parents to fully participate and enjoy the
strong school community spirit. The Cathedral Ball, a long-standing
Baltimore tradition, is CASPA's major fundraiser. The Ball proceeds
provide vital school enhancements. |

The
Cathedral School Parents Association (CASPA) is designed to be
responsive to the needs of the School of the Cathedral and its
parent members. CASPA
is one of the most active parent-teacher associations in the
Baltimore area. When general meetings are held, at least one parent
of each family is required to attend.
CASPA
publishes the Family Handbook/Directory annually in the hope that
it will be used frequently by all members of the School community
and to further CASPA’s goal of establishing a closer bond among
its members. A list of the CASPA Board members is
included in this directory. Please feel free to call the CASPA
President, any officer of the CASPA Board, or a Committee chair
whenever there is a question, problem, or suggestion.
CASPA’s
most important function is one of fund-raising for the benefit of
the School of the Cathedral. The Cathedral Ball is CASPA’S major
fund-raiser. The proceeds from this event directly benefit the
students and the school. In recent years, the funds raised have been
used for the enhancement of the facility and the purchase of
additional technology, most specifically, SmartBoards for each
classroom in grades MWP through 8 and new iMacs for the Computer Lab. |

and their parents. |

class relating to the social studies curriculum. This is a wonderful
learning opportunity for both the children and parents. No art background required. |
| |
Cathedral Ball: A long-standing Baltimore tradition. It is the fund-raiser of the year. It is an exciting evening of dinner, dancing and entertainment, including a silent auction, a raffle and much, much more. |
| |
Cardinal Cup & Fun Run: This 5K Run/Walk is held the morning of the Ball. It benefits
our sister school, Mother Seton Academy, and the School of the Cathedral's outreach program. |
| |
Used Uniform Bank:
Gently used summer and winter uniforms are sold at very reasonable
prices throughout the school year. |
| |
Faculty Luncheon: On Closing Day in June, the faculty and staff enjoy a luncheon held at a local
country club. This luncheon is festive and fun way to say "thank-you"
for their work throughout the year. |
| |
Volunteer Recruitment:
CASPA also recruits volunteers for many other school-related programs
and events throughout the year. |
