Letter from School Leadership

Welcome to the School of the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen!

Cathedral offers an elite Pre Kindergarten through eighth grade Catholic education grounded in spiritual strength and academic excellence. Located in Baltimore City’s academic corridor, we have been preparing students to attend premier high schools since 1871.  The School of the Cathedral is a vibrant faith-filled community committed to Christian service and outreach to others.

As you explore our community, you will find information and insights into how we provide a nurturing and challenging educational experience for children ages four to fourteen.  A few of our resources include our PreK4 through Eighth Grade science lab, Makerspace, 3D printers, and our highly-qualified teachers. Our signature programs, such as the Prayer Buddy Program, Student Ambassador Program, Student Council, Middle School elective courses, and weekly liturgies, provide an opportunity to prepare our students to meet the leadership needs of an ever-changing world.

My own philosophy of Catholic education aligns beautifully with the Cathedral mission and vision to “foster our students’ spiritual strength in the Catholic faith and to challenge them to achieve academic excellence”. I have taken Pope Francis’ “Art of Encounter” and aligned it with our own theological theme, vision and mission as Principal of the Cathedral. It is my belief that when we encounter souls as Christ did, with wholehearted listening, learning and leading, we have, as Catholic leaders, the ability to open minds and provide every student with a true encounter with Christ.

I encourage you to continue your exploration of our school and faith community. We welcome you to set up a tour or attend one of our open houses to experience the welcoming presence of our faculty, students, and parents.

Thank you and God Bless,
